About beadID

Over a glass of wine in December 2007, I dreamt about establishing a business that would provide me the fulfillment of working for myself along with the financial gains of having your own business.

As a teacher, the idea for beadID was inspired by my frustration at having to wear unattractive fabric lanyards to carry school ID passes, classroom keys, whistles and USBs. These lanyards were always in fabulously horrible colours and usually covered in corporate advertising. Things had to change!

With inspiration fueling the long days I set about designing and creating beautiful beaded lanyards. Before the official launch of beadID hundreds of beadIDs had been hand-made hundreds countless designs eliminated to decide the final 16 designs of the first range.

With a self-confessed lack of business skills, months were spent learning the intricacies of setting up a business, manufacturing, importing, distributing, accounting and; most importantly how to make a success of something that started as a casual Christmas idea.

On 1st January, 2009 beadID launched the first range . My days are now filled with running the business – it’s challenging, exciting, rewarding and I love what I do.
