Purchases, Postage Costs & Returning Goods

1. Can I send a beadID as a gift?

Yes, to send your beadID as a gift simply select 'This order is a gift / present' option at checkout. By selecting this option you can include a personalised message to accompany the gift.

For the same price as standard packaging your purchase will be beautifully presented and bubble wrapped for added protection.

2. Do you have gift certificates?
Yes, we have online gift certificates. To purchase an online gift certificate, simply select Gift Certificates under Product options and follow the instructions. beadID Gift Certificates can only be redeemed online and not at a retail outlet.

3. How much does postage cost?
Postage costs are based on the number of products purchased on each order. We have made every effort to keep the delivery structure simple and the cost to you as low as possible.
Domestic

  • Australia-wide delivery is via Australia Post's parcel service.
  • If you require delivery urgently, we can Express Post your purchase.

All currency figures are in Australian Dollars (AUD). For all orders we use Registered International Post.
Please be aware if you are ordering for International deliveries you warrant, understand and agree to the following:

  • Customers are liable for any relevant customs charges, duties or tariffs for their country.
  • Customers understand that if the goods sent from us are impounded by customs, delivery charges and cost of goods will not be refunded
  • Customers understand that if the goods are returned, the customer will be charged for all shipping charges (to and from the customer)

4. Do you offer Express Post?
Within Australia we offer Express Post.  See prices.  Please contact us if you wish to Express Post to an international destination.

5. How long will it take to receive my order?
Within Australia, you can expect your parcel to arrive between 2 and 7 days from the date of dispatch, depending upon your postcode and delivery area.

6. Can I buy online if I live outside Australia?
Yes, we would love to see beadIDs being worn worldwide. Please note the following:
Prices

  • All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars and international customers will need to covert this offline to their local currency.
  • We do not charge a fee for processing overseas payments, however your bank or financial institution may charge for currency conversion or an overseas purchase.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

  • The total price of your order will include 10% GST at checkout. However, this will be deducted when your international order is processed and your credit card is charged.

Customs

  • Customers are liable for any relevant customs charges, duties or tariffs for their country.
  • Customers understand that if the goods sent from us are impounded by customs, delivery charges and cost of goods will not be refunded.
  • Customers understand that if the goods are returned, the customer will be charged for all shipping charges (to and from the customer)

7. Can I cancel an order?
Should you wish to cancel your order you will need to send us an email at info@beadid.com.au with CANCEL ORDER in the subject line. This cancellation email will need be received by us prior to your order being shipped from our depot at beadID. Should your order already have been dispatched from our depot then you will need to accept receipt of delivery of your purchase and then follow our procedure for returns and refunds.

8. What is the return policy on beadID products?
Australia: All returns must be received at dispatch within 21 days of the date of original dispatch of your goods, otherwise they will be returned to you at your expense.
International: All returns must be received at dispatch within 30 days of the date of original dispatch, otherwise they will be returned to you at your expense.
We want you to love our products, but if something isn't right, please let us know immediately. Please see our Returns and Exchanges Policy for more information.

9. What happens if my goods are damaged?
If by some chance the goods are damaged, please contact us within 3 working days on 1300 774 122 or via email at info@beadid.com.au to arrange the return of the goods.

11. Is it safe to order online with my credit card?
beadID orders are processed with PayPal. Please see the PayPal website for their terms, conditions and security policies. www.PayPal.com.au

12. What payment methods does beadID accept?
We can accept paypal, direct deposit into our bank account or a mailed cheque/money order.  Note that your order will not be shipped until your payment is cleared.  Please call us on 1300 774 122 or email info@beadid.com.au if you require any assistance.

13. Do I need to create a beadID Account to purchase products online?
Yes, for your convenience and security we need you to create a beadID Account in order to purchase products via our online shop. As a bonus, beadID Account members are eligible for exclusive offers and product sneak previews via our Newsletter.

14. I have forgotten my User Name, what do I do?
Your User Name is your email address.

15. I have forgotten my Password, what do I do?
A password can be reset. Simply click 'I have forgotten my password' and a new password will be sent to your email account.

16. My User Name and Password don't match, what is wrong?
Passwords are case sensitive; make sure your Caps Lock button is not turned on. If you are sure you have entered the password correctly, it can be manually reset. Please send an email to info@beadid.com.au or contact us on 1300 774 122 during business hours.

17. How do I care for my beadID?
To prolong the enjoyment of your beadID avoid direct contact with perfume, sprays or immersing in water; and slide the magnetic clasp to open.

18. I need a 'break-away' clasp to meet OHS requirements, does beadID have this feature?
Yes, we use a magnetic clasp to meet Occupational Health and Safety requirements. The magnetic clasp ensures a fast and safe separation if needed, while providing a strong closure at other times. A removable safety chain is provided for the added protection of possessions.

19. What can I hang off my beadID?
Almost anything! We have accessories to attach most everyday items including your: mobile phone, work ID pass, keys, sunscreen, membership pass, purse, USB stick, pen-light torch, glasses, lip gloss, biro, charms & decorations, can opener, photos + hundreds more we haven't thought of yet!

20. What is the length of a beadID?
beadIDs are a similar length to standard fabric lanyards – between approx 45cm – 47cm (18") long.

21. What are each of the accessories for?
Each type of accessory can hang a variety of items – see detailed information for each attachment on the Accessories product page.
Our range of add-on accessories allows you to hang almost any everyday item from your beadID.

22. Is a beadID safe for my child to wear?
We recommend that children under three (3) years of age do not wear a beadID due to the small parts. beadIDs are not a toy.

23. Where are the beadIDs and accessories manufactured?
beadIDs are designed in Australia. Components are manufactured to our specifications in China. Assembly is undertaken in Australia.

24. How did you come up with the idea of beadIDs?
beadID was an original creation of teachers who were inspired by the frustration of having to wear unattractive fabric lanyards to carry their school ID passes, classroom keys, whistles and USBs. These lanyards were usually from teacher conferences and were always in fabulously horrible colours and usually covered in corporate advertising. Visit the About us page for more information.

25. Is beadID the name of the company or the product?
It is both. When we started telling family and friends about our idea of our making beaded lanyards, the universal reply was "Beaded what?" We decided that if lanyard was as unknown term, we should name our beautiful products something different; so we called them beadIDs.

26. When was the business created?
From early 2008, while still working as full-time teachers, the creators worked evenings, weekends and holidays on beadID. From mid-2008 they started moving over to beadID part-time and in January 2009 the first range was launched.  In 2013, the new owner, also a teacher, purchased beadID.
